Educators from Geographic Alliances in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, and Oregon and facilitators from the Library of Congress' Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) Western Region program developed a workshop model for Teaching Geography using Primary Sources.  This workshop uses primary sources to teach geography at any grade level and from any time period.  Whether the document, song lyrics, photograph, or map is from Colonial America or ancient Egypt, the tools and approaches developed through this collaboration will assist students in deciphering their geographic significance.  If your school or district is interested in hosting this professional development program, please contact coga@uccs.edu.
