<p>The 9-day institute will include:</p>
<li>Content information about STEMSS and language acquisition</li>
<li>Field experiences to see academic and commercial settings for STEM</li>
<li>Exemplary lessons that teach STEMSS and Arizona ELA and Math standards with ELL strategies</li>
<li>Lots and lots of networking with other educators</li>
<p> Goals of the Institute:</p>
<li>Create a cadre of teachers trained in STEM and geography skills and concepts as well as in Arizona College and Career Ready (ELA and Math) standards</li>
<li>Produce lessons that have been piloted and revised based on classroom feedback</li>
<li>Create lessons to improve language acquisition and academic knowledge of ELLs</li>
<li>Provide professional development of teachers attending the institute and have these teachers train others in their districts/schools</li>
<li>Distribute the institute products through the AzGA website to other teachers in other locations</li>
<li>Improve the quality of STEM and geography education in Arizona especially with ELLs</li>
