Geo-literacy: live free or die!
The New Hampshire Geographic Alliance has a history of providing quality professional development activities for teachers in the state. During the past few years the Alliance has undergone a period of transition. The organizational design of the Alliance has been a simple one headed by two Co-Coordinators, a steering committee that meets periodically, a newsletter editor (recently replaced with a webmaster), and a Geography Awareness Week Coordinator.
The New Hampshire Geographic Alliance is a grassroots organization composed mainly of K-12 teachers and university geographers—dedicated to improving and promoting geography education. The NHGA supports professional development for teachers, development of classroom materials, and efforts to make geography a part of state and local curricula.
