The Center for Geography Education in Oregon (formerly the Oregon Geographic Alliance) was founded in 1986 and currently has over 700 Teacher Consultant members. The mission of C-GEO is to improve geography education in the State of Oregon, and we have always viewed our alliance as critical in the state because we are the only organization dedicated to geography education.

C-GEO offers annual professional development programs, public outreach, and teacher materials throughout the state. C-GEO has held over 50 summer institutes, produced key curricular materials (including a student atlas of the state and hundreds of model lessons). The alliance provides support for teacher travel, incentive grants, mentoring programs and participation in state curricular committees
